Founded by Ken Edgar in 2011, Design Illumination is a unique business that specializes in custom backlighting solutions. The business started out as a custom LED fabrication service for high end residential homes and has now evolved into a firm that specializes in backlighting a multitude of translucent materials.
Custom fabricated LED light panels designed specifically for uniform backlighting allows us to create unique backlit solutions for our clients. Design Illumination embodies the finest quality, attention to details and innovative professional services for architects, interior designers and developers. We are driven by a tailor-made approach to our clients: bespoke solutions and custom-made backlit surfaces and finishings. With dedication, Design Illumination pursues creations inspired by European design and innovation.

Philosophy
Design Illumination begins each project only after thoroughly understanding the client’s requirements and desires, and makes a proposal based on a substantial research effort. This allows us to broaden the choices in customizing its existing lines of products or to create custom-made solutions. These may include Stone, Artwork, Glass, Metal, or Wood. Combining these materials in the most unique and elegant ways allows for the best backlit feature.
