How difficult is it to install the illume panel?
Do your products work with home smart systems?
Yes, all our backlighting solutions are compatible with most home automation systems on the market.
What is the true-life span of the illume panel?
Our light source is rated for 42,000 true hours of life. This means that if the light is used for 8 hours a day, it would take 14 years for the light source to slowly deplete itself of energy.
Can the illume panel be used outdoors?
Yes, according to the project details we will fabricate the illume panel to be outdoor rated, for rain and wet conditions.
Can the illume panel be used for shower areas?
Yes, we will fabricate the illume light panel with a sealed membrane around the perimeter.
What is the largest size light panel you can produce?
Currently we can do 10 ft long x 5 ft wide.
What is the thickness of the illume panel?
We fabricate 3mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm thickness. The most popular thickness is 6mm and 8mm, if color changing is the desired lighting source then we will use 8mm thickness.
If the illume panel is damaged, can your products be repaired?
Yes, we can replace the LED lighting so it’s functionally again.
When doing flat surfaces such as counters, where the stone will rest on top of the illume panel, does the weight of the stone effect our product?
Not at all, as long as there is sufficient support underneath the illume panel.
Can you assist in the design stages of a project?
Yes, we work together with the Designers and Architects at all steps of the project to ensure the project all comes together properly. This collaboration is very important as most professionals are not quite familiar with backlighting.
What makes your products different from others?
Our illume panel is specifically designed for backlighting applications, no hot spots, uniform illumination across the entire surface. No captivity is required for most applications.
Should the design allow for future access of the light source?
Yes, in some applications, but it may not be possible in all cases. This again depends on the application; we will work with the designer and millwork company on the technical design.
What are the space requirements for backlit items?
The advantage of the illume panel is most of the time no cavity is required, however sometimes we design with a cavity of 1 inch.
Do you ship outside Canada?
Yes, we can ship to most countries.
